Directions to the Symposium Site
The meeting will be held at the Colonial House Inn on Route 6A in Yarmouthport. Coming from the mainland, you cross over the Sagamore Bridge onto the Cape, which will put you onto Route 6, the Mid-Cape Highway. Continue east on Route 6 and get off at Exit 7 (Willow St.). Go north (right) onto Willow Street. Continue to the 'T' junction and turn right (east) onto Route 6A. There are many inns and guest houses along this stretch of 6A, and the Colonial House Inn will be on your right shortly after you pass the Post Office.
If you have time and want a more scenic drive out the Cape, you can join Route 6A almost immediately after crossing the Sagamore Bridge. Look for the sign for 6A as soon as you get onto Route 6. It is the first exit. While this route takes about 50% longer than the Mid-Cape, it is much more interesting. After you come into Yarmouthport, you will see the Post Office on your right, and then the Colonial House Inn will soon appear on your right.
If coming from the eastern part of Cape Cod (traveling west on the Mid-Cape Highway), you should get off at Exit 8 (Union St.) and go north (right) to Route 6A. When you come to the intersection with 6A, you will find a Getty service station. Turn left, and the Colonial House Inn will be on your left.
The Plymouth & Brockton Street Railway (a bus line) goes from Logan Airport in Boston to Hyannis on Cape Cod, which is near the conference site. The trip from Logan to Hyannis is about two hours. For more information about Cape Cod and the P&B bus line, go to http://www.p-b.com.
The Bonanza Bus Line http://www.bonanzabus.com has service between T.F. Green Airport in Providence, Rhode Island and the Cape (Hyannis and other locations). Southwest Airlines services Providence. The trip from TF Green to Hyannis is about three hours.
Getting around on Cape Cod is difficult without a car, however during the meeting there should be enough people with cars to make getting about easy. A conference van will be available to pick up participants in the morning before the sessions begin, and at the end of the day to take them back to their guest houses. There will be a bus to Provincetown on Tuesday afternoon for the excursion.
